MAAP WAY
Florida is in a serious housing shortage. Current market conditions discourage building or preserving the affordable housing that residents and our economy need to grow. Currently, the state needs more than 790,000 additional homes that are affordable to low-income renters.
The state is going through the challenge of stagnating incomes and increasing prices of homes. As a result, even essential services personnel such as teachers, nurses, firefighters, and policemen are confronted with an inability to afford to live in the community that they serve.
The lack of access to an affordable home has devastating long-term impacts on the lowest-income families. Affordable homes provide vulnerable families with the stability they need to thrive, to improve their health, education, and economic outcomes. Housing instability increases the likelihood of job loss, eviction, and homelessness, negatively affecting a family’s physical and mental well-being throughout their lives.
The supreme goal of MAAP Homes is to assist with housing, improve and reduce homelessness by stabilizing low-income neighborhoods by investing in economic development projects, educating individuals on the importance of ownership and creating sustainable jobs while developing affordable properties and homes
We believe affordable homes provide vulnerable families with the stability they need to thrive, to improve their health, education, and economic outcomes.
